For quite awhile I’ve been getting photo challenge prompts from WordPress on Friday afternoons. They have been so much fun; I looked forward to them eagerly as Friday mornings went by and I’d check while I was still at work, eager to find out what the current week’s challenge would be. Then I’d think about it on the long commute and generally by the time I made our driveway I’d have an idea.
I haven’t received a photo prompt in two weeks, and it looks like maybe there haven’t been any. I’ve always wondered who comes up with the challenges and where they got their ideas and how long they could keep it up. But, still, it makes me very sad to think there will be no more ideas coming. Especially since I couldn’t find what I was looking for on the last challenge “threshold.”
I never did post the photo I thought I might use for that challenge. It’s a stretch, but here you go.
I think of the sky between the old building and the new building as the threshold between time.
This was on the University of Michigan campus, I was wandering around and happened to glance over my shoulder and saw the two eras standing in the bright sunshine.
So there you have it…..’threshold.’ Sort of.
I’m going to miss the photo prompts. I hope they come back. In the meantime if anyone has a challenge for me…well…I’m up for it.

Nice photo of the two buildings from different eras. You’re also attending a wedding this weekend. Isn’t that symbolic for crossing a threshold from being single to being a pair? Hey, if they ran out of ideas for your photo challenge, give me baton, I’ll come up with some weird ones for you!

HMMMM…that’s kind of intriguing! It’s a short week for me, but you never know…throw me an idea and I’ll see what I can do.

You know how I love playing with words and ideas when it comes to photo challenges. I love your explanation here. I’m on school vacation this week – maybe inspiration for a photo hunt will hit! It’s been a little bit since I’ve done one and Scott seems to be on break from his assignments for a while. I will give it some thought!

It’s not easy coming up with a challenge, so I can understand how you and Scott could get worn out. But maybe together we can figure out a one word challenge. Maybe.

threshold between time ~ what a deep thought.
I guess on this Easter morning it could be a comforting thought or a dark one depending upon how you lived your life.
Happy Easter

Good interpretation, Dawn. Hope they bring back the photo challenges — if not, perhaps you can take a piece of paper, write a BUNCH of different words on it, cut them apart, toss them in a cap, and draw out one a week. Sort of your own challenge?!

I also think you came up with a unique interpretation of the photo challenge. I just can’t seem to get the hang of them. I think about them and think about them, and then suddenly it’s the next Friday and I haven’t participated. But I have good news: you must just be missing the posts somehow. Here’s Friday’s challenge: http://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_photo_challenge/on-top/

Well what do you know….I must have missed something where we had to sign up again or something. I’ll check it out!
Maybe you’re over thinking them because you’re such a great photographer. Sometimes I just look for something interesting and then figure out how it relates to the prompt! LOL! I also think that the city lends itself more for a lot of the prompts, and you’re further away from a city…but all in all I’ve seen several of your shots that I thought would be PERFECT for the prompt….so I’d love to see you throw some in there!
Thanks for the link!!!!!

I like the threshhold photo. I like the notion that the space between things is the focus.

You always take such lovely photos. Hmmm – a challenge. I think you should interpret a song (or a portion of a song) you are playing in band with pictures.
