I'm a long time banker having worked in banks since the age of 17. I took a break when I turned 50 and went back to school. I graduated right when the economy took a turn for the worst and after a year of library work found myself unemployed. I was lucky that my previous bank employer wanted me back. So here I am again, a long time banker. Change is hard.

If you read from left to right, it’s bleu, blanc et rouge–French patriotism! Was this at your polling place, Dawn? We had some worrying issues last week, and I was concerned we might not make it to the polls, so we voted absentee ballots. I missed the ritual of standing in line at the fire house, but the relief of knowing that I’d taken care of business outweighed the importance of ritual for me this year.

Did you have to wait long for this perfect photo op to appear, or was it simple luck of being in the right place at the right time? I can almost see you telling the driver of a green car, for instance, “No, you can’t park here. This spot is reserved for a blue car!” Haha!

I saw a similar line up several months ago but didn’t have a camera. So I’d been watching to see it again. And I did see it again a couple of times in different parking lots. So one day I took my little camera and at lunch I wandered around our huge parking lot looking. I wanted to only have the fronts so there were no license plates to identify people…and I wanted it to be far enough away from the building that I could get a shot without freaking out security. I saw this right away, so got lucky.

You are so thoughtful – I can imagine running around at the polling place taking pictures with no thought at all of License Plate Visibility. I must drop by here more often – civilize my disreputable self.

Patriotic parking! Ha ha, I had to stare for about a minute to “get” it. That middle car looks like one of ours.
